ECU file analyzer
Open an ECU dump in your browser to find its hardware, software and part numbers, browse it in a hex view, compare it with a second file and see at once whether we have the matching file. Free, no account — and your file is never uploaded.
or drop a file here · BIN, ORI, MPC, E2P, DIM, HEX · up to 32 MB
e.g. the original and the modified file
Your file never leaves your computer. It is opened in your browser; only the part and software numbers found in it are checked against our file library.
What the ECU file analyzer shows
- Numbers inside the file: Bosch hardware (0 281 / 0 261) and software numbers (1037 / 10SW), VW / Audi / Seat / Skoda part numbers (for example 03L906018), Continental / Siemens, Denso and Delphi numbers, and the ECU family string (EDC16CP34, MED17, SID807…).
- Matching files: every number is checked against our library, so you see at once whether the file for that software exists — with price and a direct link.
- File facts: size, SHA-256, and how much of the file is empty (FF) or zero (00) — a dump that is almost all FF or 00 is usually a failed read.
- Hex view: scroll the whole file, jump to an offset and search text or hex bytes.
- Compare: load a second file to see every changed region, the number of changed bytes and where they are, byte by byte — handy to check a tuned or immo off file against the original.
Typical ECU file sizes
| Size | Usually |
|---|---|
| 512 B – 64 KB | EEPROM (93C / 95xxx / 24Cxx): immobiliser data, mileage, coding |
| 256 KB – 1 MB | Older engine ECUs (EDC15, ME7) or the internal flash of an MPC processor (EDC16) |
| 1.5 – 2 MB | EDC16 external flash, EDC17 / MED17 with TC1766 / TC1767 |
| 4 MB | EDC17 / MED17 / SID with TC1797 and similar |
| 6 – 8 MB and more | Current generations (MD1, MG1, EDC17C64…) and full backups with several areas |
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is opened and analysed entirely in your browser. Only the identification numbers found in it (for example 0281036859 or 10SW067888) are sent to check our library — never the file itself.
Can it correct checksums or edit the file?
No — the analyzer is read-only. Checksums are corrected by your tuning software or tool when writing. All modified files sold on ECUDOCK are delivered checksum-corrected.
Which files can I open?
Any binary read up to 32 MB: .bin, .ori, .mpc, .e2p / .eep, .dim, .hex and container files. Encrypted or compressed formats can be opened, but numbers will usually not be readable.
No number was found. Why?
Some ECUs store their identification encrypted or only in a separate area, and EEPROM dumps rarely contain it. Read the numbers with your tool and use ECU lookup, or send us a file request.
